PDI & Sunrise Dairy voice-activated warehouse selecting system (Vocollect) converts electronic data into voice commands for the warehouse selectors through radio frequency.
The selectors wear a headset  and a belt-mounted radio frequency unit for communication purposes.
The selector is directed to a slot location determined by the next
item to pick on the order. The selector is required to verify the slot
location and must state the slot location check digit for the
computer to cross check that they are in the correct location.
Once the selector has stated the correct check digit, he/she will be prompted to select the correct quantity of product from the slot.
The selector is then directed to the next pick location and the process is repeated until the batch and/or order has been filled.
The loaders can access information from
Vocollect concerning where a pallet has been placed on the dock. This reduces the chances of a pallet being left behind.
